Gardening supports personal and safe encounters with the natural world.

We have a network of Community Garden spaces including Avondale, U Pick, The Patrick Kaufman Learning Garden, Pollinator Patches, and the South Franklinton Community Garden.

Our gardening aims are to advance neighborhood beautification, natural ecology, staff efficiency, and overall production.

 Pollinator Patches

Pollinators are integral to our farm - we couldn’t do what we do without them! Helping out pollinators while making Franklinton more beautiful is important to us.

These Pollinator Plots not only look extremely beautiful - providing color on streets that need them - they also provide nourishment to beneficial insects like bees, butterflies, moths and more.

Home Victory Gardens (HVG)

Franklinton Farms supports our Home Victory Gardeners - neighbors with a backyard in Franklinton.

We help you establish a raised bed or container garden, plant your own veggies and fruits from seed or plant starts.

Maintain your Victory Garden year-round with personal support as you desire and connect to a neighborhood community of gardeners.

 U-Pick Garden

At the corner of Town St. and Martin St, right next to our main office, we plan, curate, plant and care for our neighborhood U-Pick garden.

This patch of vegetables, flowers, and herbs is open to all 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We only ask that visitors only take what they need so that all can enjoy. Please do not take whole plants.

PKLG Community Garden

The Patrick Kaufman Learning Garden is a community space and garden where neighbors and visitors are encouraged to walk, play, volunteer, eat, and enjoy nature.

There are abundant berry bushes, beautiful wildflowers, meditative sit-spots. The space is ADA Accessible.

When to visit the Patrick Kaufman Learning Garden

We have open hours throughout the year where the public are invited to visit.

We also hold community festivals and host other public events as well as private education programming throughout the year.

 Avondale Community Garden

In 2021, we relaunched our Avondale Community Garden as a space where neighbors can manage their own garden plots.

Since then, we have added fruit trees to add to the young established Paw Paw trees, a meditative herb spirals with ripples of flower beds, and a seed library.

It is a beautiful space, free for all to visit and to enjoy!

 Seed Library

Our free seed library lives at the Avondale Community Garden and operates like a Little Free Library.

We encourage Franklinton neighbors and Columbus visitors to take seeds and leave seeds as they can. We also host a Seed Swap once a year, usually in January.

 South Franklinton Community Garden

From May to October, we visit the apartments in South Franklinton weekly to share produce from our free market stand.

We also have garden beds that we support residents and neighbors in managing.
